For this week my Literature circle group read chapters 6-10 of The Short Bus. While I was reading I found a few parts of the story very interresting. The author makes a stop to see a girl named Ashley. He did not seem to have any interrest in going to see Ashley and had hopes that he did not have to go. I found this very surprising and rude that he did not want to go see her. Ashley was different from the others because she cannot hear or see. Jon clamied that she was not wrongly labled as disabled, she really was disabled. However by the end of Jons visit with Ashley it seemed like she inspired him becuase he dicovered that she is not disabled she is just different from the other children he has met and himself. Another part of the story that I like was what Becky said before she had to leave the bus journey. She said that she hopes to have a child one day with Jon who is disabled. I think this tells a lot about Beckys feelings toward Jon. It does not matter what is wrong with a person, no matter what Becky will always love them for who they are.
